Get started
Install OpenWorking and run your first task on your own machine.
OpenWorking is a free, open-source desktop agent built on Opencode. It runs locally on your machine — bring your own keys, use 50+ LLMs, and keep your work on your own hardware. No subscription, no lock-in.
Install
- Download the latest release for your platform from the download page.
- Open the app. On first launch, OpenWorking creates a local profile under your user data directory — nothing is written into your projects or your global config.
- Open a project folder to start a session.
Next steps
- Connect your stack — add an API key or wire up a custom LLM and MCP servers.
- Do work with it — import skills and use cross-chat memory.
Local-first
OpenWorking never writes config or skills into your project folder or your
global ~/.config/opencode. Everything lives in the app-managed profile.
